Brush with Kindness

Helping families repair and remain in their homes

DSC06226.JPG

Our Brush with Kindness (BWK) program is focused on providing practical support to low-income homeowners and community groups such as homeless shelters and women’s shelters.

Through our BWK program, we engage volunteers to undertake a broad range of activities including gardening, landscaping, painting, minor repairs and cleaning.

With financial support, provided through donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, fundraising events and partnerships, we’re also able to engage skilled volunteers for minor carpentry tasks such as fixing damaged doors, floors, and windows and addressing non-pressurized plumbing issues like damaged gutters and downpipes.

For more significant projects such as structural repairs, major plumbing tasks, and electrical work, a financial contribution from the recipient may be required.

I just want to thank you again... some days can get overwhelming when I'm trying to manage everything on my own and scared not just for my safety but for how I'm going to manage financially and thinking about living in my car again by January. I have days when I can't even do simple household needs. Your help with the gate means more than you know.. a mere thank you doesn't seem enough.. but I hope you know how extremely thankful I am.
