This month we send off two of our treasured Volunteer Supervisors as they wrap up their time with the Habitat for Humanity Victoria team. Pat and Rod have each made a huge and unique impact and left a lasting legacy on our volunteer programs, particularly to our Partner families and program beneficiaries.
Rod has been involved with Habitat for Humanity Victoria since 2011 in many capacities, officially coming on staff in 2014 as our Volunteer Programs Supervisor. Nearly all of our volunteers in the past decade will have had the pleasure of working alongside Rod. He greets each volunteer with bright enthusiasm which continues to come across as he directs and guides our volunteer work. It is widely known Rod is just about the friendliest person you could meet!
Pat was a valued volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Victoria until the opportunity arose for him to come on staff for a brief period of time as our second Volunteer Supervisor; particularly to assist residents in the Dandenong Ranges impacted by the June 2021 storms. With Pat on board, we increased our support for families needing help with storm damage recovery on their properties. Pat's cheery personality and humour rings through our volunteer days. We will miss Pat and his classic red flannel shirt.
We are sad to see them go but wish them well in their future endeavours!
Do you have any fond memories of working alongside Pat or Rod on a Habitat volunteer day? Would you like to share some kind words, encouragement or wish them well in their next chapter beyond Habitat? Scroll down to the comments section and write to them!

Already missing your smiley faces around the place. I have watched Pat teach the volunteers and how he is just so patient and lovely to people. I’m sure all at Habitat will miss them dreadfully.
Thank you both so much for all your hard work and support after the June 2021 storm. I'm amazed at how much we all managed to achieve with your help. I wish you all the best for the future 😍
On behalf of all the construction and project management students from RMIT University, and from Sarah and myself, thank you Rod for bring your energy, beaming smile and educational skills to our course at Yea over the years. Best wishes for whatever adventure you take on next.
Hi Rod - your contribution at HfH over the last 10 years has been 'second to none'. It was great working with you during those hot Dec days. Take care of yourself and may cross paths in future . Anthony from Telstra
Met you few times as an ad-hoc volunteer, you've always been warm, patient with a witty sense of charm during the build days, glad to have met you. Wish you both all the best!!
