Habitat for Humanity Victoria is excited to welcome David Bryce to our team as Volunteer Programs Coordinator, where he will lead our Brush with Kindness program.  David brings strong for-purpose leadership experience and is deeply committed to faith expressed in social justice. He has had a significant engagement with Habitat to date, having both volunteered with Brush with Kindness and participated in a Global Village volunteer experience in the Philippines. David has hit the ground running, helping guide three teams of corporate volunteers across three days for a painting and gardening project at Servants Community Housing. We asked David to share what his role involves and what drew him to work with us.

What does your role at HFHV involve?

I organise small scale kindness projects such as painting and gardening for housing organisations or individuals in need, bringing corporate teams and Habitat volunteers to come in and fulfill the project. I have a good base to grow the program with my study in architectural drafting and business management, my home DIY skills and stakeholder management skills gained from running a social enterprise.

How do you connect with HFHV’s cause personally?

I have a heart for helping those who have a rough start to their lives, believing that as Jesus sided with the poor to lift them up, therefore we as the privileged should also come alongside them, give them a hand, showing God’s love and impartiality.
